We want Comfort! Yes we Do!

we want comfort! How about you?
All my clients have one thing in common lately.... They are asking for warm colors and casual sophistication.
But how can you pair those two?
Scaled down furnishings - Choose smaller pieces and arrange them in a more intimate setting.
Wall coverings - Don't let this scare you! The return to traditional design trends brings with it a return to wallpaper, fabric wall coverings and murals. There are so many "peel and stick" wallpaper designs on the market. Try etsy for starters. You can even design your own on this great little website called "spoonflower"!
Color changes - Change your blues and indigos of the past to rich GREEN.
Color ‘pops’ - People are ditching beige minimalism in favor of fun colors, especially in family-friendly spaces. YELLOW and GOLD is the hottest color for small accent pieces–from ceramics to lamps to sofa pillows.
Warm woods and traditional styles - Antiques and even second-hand items are having their moment again, with consumers looking for skirted tables, wooden chests and other wood pieces with a sense of history. Mix these in with your existing decor!
Indoor and outdoor fireplaces - The coziness trend favors indoor fireplaces, working or not, with homey hearths as a nice spot to gather. Outdoors, fireplaces are preserving the joy of summertime barbecues.
Crafts and artisanal accents - In a world of increasing mass production, there has been a shift back to artisanal and boutique choices in pillows, wall hangings, quilts and other accent pieces all around the home.
